Mariposa Beach is a narrow beach.  During high tide, much of the beach area can be covered by the tide.  The entrance to the long walkway starts where West Mariposa and West Escalones Avenues meet.  There is access to the San Clemente Beach Coastal Trail from this narrow beach.  There is also a footbridge underpass that dips under the railroad tracks to the beach. Street parking is available nearby.
